Strate School of Design

Set in a beautiful green campus, Strate school of Design has been designed such that the building and nature seamlessly blend with each other. A clean, simple and minimalist design approach has been adopted not only in planning but also in materiality by selecting natural materials and keeping the structure exposed. Both academic and hostel buildings are planned as PEB structures. Exposed porotherm blocks add earthy feel to the space. Existing fruit trees around the buildings were saved during the construction. The site had multiple challenges during construction owing to high water table on site. Workshop for automobile design is placed on the ground level while classrooms are placed on the above levels. A gathering stair at entrance provides not only a presentation space but also serves as gallery for student exhibit. The hostel rooms are designed to provide a homely atmosphere. Hostel building faces the rain tree which forms a nice backdrop for the building and for students to use outdoors for learning activities.
